Post 105, R.C.P. Captures 19U and 17U Titles
ROCKY HILL - The Post 105, R.C.P. (Rocky Hill, Cromwell & Portland) 19U baseball team finished the season 36-8, winning its fourth-straight CT Zone 7 Championship and seventh in the last 10 years. In the State Tournament, they went onto defeat Simsbury in the North Super Regional section in South Windsor. RCP then defeated Stamford, in a best 2 out of 3 series at Palmer Field in Middletown, to earn the program’s first State Championship. With the victory, RCP qualified for the Northeast Regional Championship at Muzzy Field. There, they went on to defeat Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and host Bristol, Conn., to repeat as the Northeast Regional Champions. RCP was the first team since East Hartford in 1991-92, to repeat as the Northeast Regionals Champions. RCP for the second-straight year advanced to the American Legion World Series in Shelby, North Carolina. The final eight teams in the country were Hawaii, Nebraska, New Orleans, Michigan, South Carolina, Oregon, New Jersey and Post 105 – RCP. With ESPN covering the games, RCP lost to Michigan, New Orleans (2-1) and the eventual National Champions South Carolina 7-6. The team will miss the leadership of Kevin Radziewicz, Chris Bouchard, Tommy Seaver and Dave Sevigny. With a core of players returning, the team will look to accomplish the unthinkable, a three-peat and another trip the American Legion World Series.

       The Post 105, R.C.P. 17U baseball team finished the season 29-6, winning their second-straight CT Zone 17 Championship and fourth in the last five years. In the State Tournament, the team went 7-1 and defeated Stamford 4-3, to join the Senior American Legion Team as Connecticut State Champions. The team made its first appearance in the New England Regional Tournament going 2 – 1, defeating Rhode Island and Maine, to finish in third place.
