“Anything Goes” at Cromwell High School
CROMWELL - Tickets are now on sale for Cromwell High School drama department’s performance of the world famous musical Anything Goes to be performed Friday, Feb. 20, and Saturday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. at Cromwell High School, 1 Donald Harris Dr., Cromwell.

       Directed by Roslyn Greenberg, Cromwell High School’s chorus director, along with  assistant director, Shannon Baldino and choreographer, Robin Greenberg, this hilarious production is based off of the original book by Guy Bolton, P.G Wodehouse, Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, and the new revised book revised book written by Timothy Crouse and John Weidman; music and lyrics written by Cole Porter. 

       The play, originally produced in 1934, is based on the romantic complications aboard the S.S. American. Up and coming Wall Street broker, Billy Crocker (played by Justin Slifer), becomes a stow away aboard the luxury liner when he finds out that his one true love, debutante Hope Harcourt (played by Emma Randazzo) is set to marry the quirky Lord Evelyn Oakley (played by Blaise Serra) aboard the voyage. Billy attempts to win back Hope while avoiding his boss, the overzealous Yale Alumni Elisha Whitney (played by David O’Neill) who is also aboard the ship. Stirring the plot is the Evangelist night club singer, Reno Sweeney (played by Alex Colavecchio) and her angels ( played by Nicole Neely, Andrea Keckley, Ashley Ramirez, and Cara McNeff). In the end, the boy gets the girl with a little help from a small-time mobster, Moon-face Martin (played by Bradey Malave) and his side-kick, Erma (played by Jordan Lane).

       Featured CHS actors and actresses include Abby Perry as the Captain, Ryan Adams as the Purser, and Julia Allen as Mrs. Evangeline Harcourt. Also featured are Ranon Klein as the minster Henry T. Dobson  and Sarah Pupkowska and Claudia Emanuele as his two Chinese converts, Luke and John.
