Omni Cards & Comics
WETHERSFIELD - At Omni Cards & Comics, you could spend hours browsing the rows of comic books, sports cards and memorabilia, toys and other assorted items--then you could return the next day and find something new.

Owners George Feitkewnicz and Scott Wool opened Omni Cards & Comics’ Bristol location as a used bookstore about 25 years ago.

â€"It progressed into comic books, then we got into sports cards and seven, eight years ago we got into the Red Sox/Yankees things and it just exploded from there,” said Manager Jesse Marsan. The store expanded to a second location on the Silas Deane Highway in Wethersfield, in the Max Bibo’s plaza.

In addition being one of the few remaining shops in the area to carry cards and comics, Omni Cards & Comics has sports gear, memorabilia and autographed items from the Red Sox and Yankees, the top 12-16 teams in the NFL and the top NHL and NBA teams. The store also has gaming items and, surprisingly, used Legos.

â€"We take in used Legos all the time,” Marsan said, adding they are often used by students and architectural firms for model-building. The legos are sorted by color and stored in bins that can be purchased by the box.

Because Omni Cards & Comics also purchases items to sell, you may also find something unexpected.

â€"We buy almost anything, actually,” Marsan said. â€"If I think I can sell it, we can buy it. I bought a pink motorcycle helmet a couple months ago. I bought a gum ball machine.”

The staff at Omni Cards & Comics--a top eBay seller, shipping 100-200 packages daily--has the expertise to appraise almost any item and, Marsan said, if the store doesn’t purchase it, staff can offer advice on the best way for an owner to sell it themselves.

â€"We have 30,000-plus feedback [on eBay] and 8,000 auctions right now. Obviously we’re a power seller and we know what’s going on,” Marsan said.

Omni Cards & Comics, 681 Silas Deane Hwy., Wethersfield, is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.- 8 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. and can be reached at 860-571-0138.
